Duelgap is an English learning game where you fill in the blank and duel friends and monsters. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers the Duelgap app and the websites duelgap.com and app.duelgap.com.
Account data. Your email address and a password (stored securely by our sign-in provider; we never see your password in plain text), or your basic Google account details if you choose Google sign-in. Your username, your app language and the language you speak.
Learning and game data. Your level, the questions you have seen, your answers and mistakes, your favourites, points, streaks, daily goals, game results, your chosen hero, and settings such as game length and speed.
Social data. Your friends list, friend requests, game invitations, and the multiplayer rooms you join. Other players can see your username, level, points and streak on leaderboards, in friend lists and in games.
Things you send us. Reports you submit about a question, and emails you send to support.
Technical data. Basic information about your device, browser and app version, and error reports when the app crashes. Daily reminder notifications are scheduled on your own device.
We do not ask for your real name, phone number, address, location, contacts, photos or payment details. We do not show advertising and we do not sell your data.
| Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|
| Create your account, run the game, save progress, show leaderboards, match you with friends | Providing the service you asked for (contract) |
| Keep the service secure, prevent cheating and abuse, fix crashes | Our legitimate interests |
| Product analytics (which parts of the game are used and where players get stuck) | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Answer your messages and requests | Providing the service and our legitimate interests |
Analytics (Mixpanel). Nothing is tracked until you accept the consent notice in the app. Analytics events use a random account ID, never your email, and describe things like "answered a question" or "finished a game". You can switch analytics off at any time in Settings.
Crash reports (Sentry). When the app breaks we may receive technical error details so we can fix it. We turn off Sentry's collection of personal data.
We only use service providers that help us run Duelgap. They process data for us under their own privacy terms:
Other players see only what is described in section 2 under social data. We may disclose data if the law requires it. If Duelgap is ever sold or merged, your data may move to the new owner, who must respect this policy.
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including outside Türkiye and the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
We keep your data while your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete your account and progress data. Short-lived technical logs and backups are removed on a rolling basis. Error reports and analytics are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above.
Depending on where you live (including under Turkish law no. 6698 and the EU/UK GDPR) you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy, and withdraw consent. To delete your account, use Settings → Account → Delete account in the app, or email us. We will answer within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, such as the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) in Türkiye.
Duelgap is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it. If the law where you live requires a parent's permission for someone your age to use online services, you must have it.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with access controls by our providers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
The web app stores your sign-in session and settings (language, sound, consent choice) in your browser's local storage so it works as expected. We do not use advertising cookies.
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and tell you in the app or by email.
